Volvo is currently developing this hybrid.

The batteries are going to be charged on the go with it's diesel power plant. Looks like it's finally going to step into the Hybrid scene. However, in the 1976 it introduced a new system which killed 90% of the harmful emissions at the time.

So it was only a matter of time until they went hybrid

The Volvo C30 is equipped with some important safety systems .That include the crash safety structure and advanced suspension. The gently rounded front is provided with a special spoiler under the bumper that helps to reduce the risk of leg injuries to a pedestrian or cyclist if struck by the car. And as side-impact protection (SIPS) and WHIPS .The Volvo C30 also offers a number of systems for greater personal security, such as Keyless Drive (which enables the car to be started without a key).

Yeah it's good that it has all those safety features as getting into accidents is no joke, and sometimes can even lead to your death.

A friend of mine unfortunately lost his father due to a car accident. However, what killed him was not the impact itself, it was when he got out of the car that he got hit. I feel that vehicles should have some outside air bag as well to help out the impact from the other car. If it would of provided some outside coating perhaps his father would of survived, and probably many other people who have gotten hit as well.
