Default what should I do?

I am looking to by a car in the next few months... i have about 5000 to put down. I have my heart set on a saturn vue greenline(the hybrid)... but I also fell in love with this 2005 saturn ion in a really rare color and its a huge fraction of the vue's price. 5000 down on the ion is half of its cost, but the hybrid is much more the thing im looking for. I don't know what I should go for. Practical and eco friendly or practical and cheap(with 44,000 miles) . help!

The hyrbids are great and eco friendly. But due to the higher price since they are in demand, you won't save much money for several years. If your goal is saving money - go for the 2005 ion.If you value eco friendly as the top goal - go for the saturn vue. With the used car - get a Carfax report AND an inspection by a mechanic before you buy!

What kind of driving do you do? If you drive on the freeway most of the time then DO NOT get the hybrid, it gets it's best results in the stop and go of city traffic. The Ion will get better mileage on the hi-way.Check the EPA mileage results for each vehicle but remember that "results may vary". Your driving habits will alter the mileage to a great extent.
